Tweet limits, scrollbar options, multi-element load() now available in timelines and widgets-js

We’re stuck trying to display our last tweet on a 1800 pixel wide message center. We have six screens on our campus seen by 775 employees plus visitors.

We used to pull a RSS feed to do it and displayed the tweet and at least 1500 pixels.

Now, with the limit of the widget at 520, it looks horribly out of place. See http://hnlcpa.com/MessageCenter/MCLobby.shtml#&panel1-5

The sizing seems unresponsive to any CSS changes too.

Maybe try a workaround where you output the twitterfeed as HTML for some php script to read and display it properly in your project?

Edit: you could also do neato cache options with it this way.

I want to use data-tweet-limit and height together. Any chance you guys will make this compatible in the near future?

Hi Alex,

That’s probably not we’ll support, as the two settings are somewhat in conflict:

Setting tweet limit is a device to set the height of the widget to a fixed number of Tweets (which are variable in height, depending on the content), whereas the height parameter fixes the widget in terms of pixels, and scrolls any number of Tweets within the space.

If you want to set the widget height in pixels, you can just do so and the full timeline will be scrollable in that space.

Hello guys, does anyone knows if there anything I can do to change my twitter widget font? and how about to make it “autoscroll” (previous widgets use to call it “loop”). I’ve made my widget transparent, wth no borders and the only thing left for me to do is to set the font to “georgia”.

I embedded my widget on the website but it shows the tweets by the people I follow too. Can we limit it so that it only shows my tweets?

I had the old API working on the website for a while but it stopped working so I am using this method now. Please help.

I am not sure if this is valid but in one of my project the default widget appearance does not fit in site design.

i have read your answer about fixing height of embedded time-line widget with data-tweet-limit, actually its crucial in some cases where tweet contains image, in this case the widget height increases around 3 times than usual. could you please reconsider the point and provide some facility to fix max-height of widget with data-tweet-limit.

There are two modes in the widget:

• Where you fix the widget height by number of Tweets, in which case the widget size is variable depending on the content of those Tweets, but remains static after page load.

Or,

• Where you fix the pixel height of the widget, which remains that size in the page regardless of content, and viewers can scroll through Tweets and load more.

Setting the height as number of Tweets overrides setting the height by pixels. There is no mode to set the height in pixels and cap the number of Tweets that can be scrolled through (since more Tweets will load, and more Tweets can be loaded by the viewer dynamically.)

I am very disappointed to see their is no facility to remove the avatar from your tweets when embedding them in your website. We have opted to change our avatar to the same background color as our website as a work around for this.Without this facility, the avatars would looks hideous and I would remove twitter from our site.

I hope you reconsider your stance on this, and have to agree with the previous poster, your username is more than sufficient.

I want that i could just show Avatar and Tweet for any twitter user lets say @Edible
on my website.
I check Twitter time line but it renders complete twitter page, can any one help me in getting Only tweet and avatar of user who are tweeting on any user; previously i was getting it using TWTR.widgets({});

what is replacement of TWTR:Widgets({});of API v 1.0 in API 1.1
