Tweet Count at zero on production but works on staging

#1

I have a staging site with identical code to a production site. The tweet count works on the staging site but it doesn’t work on the production site. It’s stuck at 0 on the production site. I’m at a loss as to why this would be.

The javascript I’m using to load the button is:

 window.twttr = (function (d,s,id) {
   var t, js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
   if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js=d.createElement(s); js.id=id;
   js.src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
   return window.twttr || (t = { _e: [], ready: function(f){ t._e.push(f) } });
 }(document, "script", "twitter-wjs"));

The anchor tag that displays the button is:
(it’s a WordPress site)

<a href="https://twitter.com/share" class="twitter-share-button tweet-anchor" data-url="<?php echo the_permalink() . '?' . sanitize_title($tip['anchor']); ?>" data-counturl="<?php echo the_permalink() . '?' . sanitize_title($tip['anchor']); ?>" data-text="<?php echo $tip['tweet_text']; ?>">Tweet</a>

Does anybody know how to test the counturl to determine why it isn’t working?
