TIP: Embedding TImeline Not Working

I tried to get my twitter timeline embed to work on my website, but for some reason all it displayed was a link with text Tweets by (my twitter account) but no actual formatted tweets from my timeline. While I attempted the suggestion at this link:

I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why my new Twitter Timeline Widget wasn't showing up on my Drupal site. I double and triple checked that I copied the code correctly and that my web site (www.WashingtonIsBroke.com) was added to the widget. I tried clearing the cache.. I tried it on 3 different browsers. I tried putting the block in different sections of the page... nothing.. just the link "Tweets by @WashingtonBroke" showing up. I searched the web (how I got here). I searched Drupal.org. I s…

It didn’t resolve anything. What did resolve my issue though was that I had “Protect my Tweets” checked under the “Security and Privacy” section of my account settings. Unchecking that option made the twitter timeline display again. Which makes sense considering the note they have in their documentation:

Embedded timelines only display public Tweets. If your account protects its Tweets then those Tweets will not be available for display from a logged-out context such as embedded Tweet and timeline displays.
