Hi, I am en experienced marketer in but new to Twitter Ads and I run into an issue which I am not sure I fully understand.

I’ve had a Twitter account since 2014 which I never used. Recently, I started a new business and decided to launch Ads on Twitter. Since I already had this old account, I changed the information to match my business details and created a small test campaign.

Before getting any impressions the Ad status changed to “Halted” and there’s a message in the dashboard saying “This account is ineligible to run Twitter Ads due to a policy violation by one or more users.”

In terms of Twitter policies, I am certain we don’t violate any of them with our website.

I read that an issue could be that new accounts are not allowed to advertise. However, the account exists since 2014 although without any activity.

That being said, would you recommend me to create a new account and wait a few weeks before I am allowed to use it. Or do you think I can fix this existing account? Perhaps I need a couple of tweets or followers before I can use it for advertising?

Thank you in advance!
