Hi Twitter developers;

I am working with accessibility to the twitter app. I noticed that the login page that comes with Auth01 is not accessible.
The edit area for username/email is not linked with the label. Therefore, the screen reader will detect only “Edit Area” rather than “Username/email Edit area”. Note that the password edit area is perfect.
I hope you can fix this small issue.
Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out here. Could you send a link to the page you are referring to?

Thanks again!
Jessica

Hello Jessica;

Thank you for your reply.
The page that I am talking about is:
https://api.twitter.com/oauth/authenticate?oauth_token= !
Authorize|618x336
I attached picture for the page. The problem is in the Username or email edit area.

Hi Jessica;

Did you get the reply below? And did you discover the issue?

Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this, we don’t have anything specific to add at this stage and there’s no ETA for making a change to that page. Is this preventing you from using the API in some way? Note that developers should never be asking users for their Twitter usernames or passwords.

Just checking back @ali_abdelrhim to make sure we are not blocking you from accessing the Twitter API features. Please let us know if there is a specific concern here beyond accessibility of the website features.

Thank you for your reply, Andy. In fact, this accessibility issue is not preventing me from using your API. However, I am developing for blind users, and this issue is making Auth02 login a little bit hard for them. As they need to do more than one step, and one of these steps is to ask sighted users to assure them that the cursor is in the username field or another edit area.
I hope you or your accessibility team can take a look at this accessibility issue whenever you have time.

Thanks for reporting this - we’re not directly able to comment on plans for the website via the developer forums. I’ll pass this on but will close this thread as we’re unable to address requests for the website or Twitter apps here.
