The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure

Getting this in two of my three environments. Everything was working fine, then, suddenly, this error. Does anyone have any idea why this might happen?

New SSL certificates were put into place yesterday. Some environments overly cache stale certificates. You might want to make sure all of your code and infrastructure are utilizing the right ones.

Okay. I hate to be that guy, but can you give me a rough idea of what “make sure all of your code and infrastructure are utilizing the right ones” might mean. For instance, we have a firewall that we had to configure outbound access for. Is that something that would be affected? Also, in the link you provided, it says this: " include the new root certificates in your servers and make sure all HTTP clients are aware of them". Are there some instructions on how I might do that?
