Wanting to add a team member to ORG. page but keep getting member has security settings blocking request. Member nor I can find the problem. What’s up?

Thanks for reaching out here. These types of invite issues come up from time to time and are a known issue on our end. While I can’t say exactly why this may have happened on a public forum like this one. It might be worth considering the following:

  • Have you tried to invite the same user more than once during a 15 min window? - If so, they might be hitting a rate limit
  • Does the inviter have a private account? If so, in order to send the invitation they must either 1. Remove the protection to send the invite or 2. Have the Invitee follow them on Twitter
  • Is the invitee protected? If so, make sure that the inviter is following the invitee
  • Does the invitee already have a developer account? (can they access the developer portal already) - If so, they cannot be invited to a team account.
  • Does the invitee have an email address attached to their account that has been verified? - If not, they will need to add a verified email to their account.

Also, it’s worth noting we actively working on improving the functionality of team accounts including making incremental changes to the invitation process.

We recently launched key improvements to the invitation process based on feedback we’ve heard from the community. Improvements included updated style and design of the teams page, and updates to the invitation flow to make it easier to invite team members or to learn why an invitation may have failed.
