Hello Twitter Team!
I am a graduate student in Stanford University’s economics department. I have already been approved for an academic project about politicians on Twitter, but I am now very excited about a different project that would require the use of Twitter’s academic research API. I would like to pursue this new project. However, I cannot figure out how to request a change to my project’s use case (e.g. the project description in "settings). Do I need to change the description in order to work on this new project?
I know that I can only have one academic research project at a time. That is fine with me; if necessary I would simply postpone (or delete) the project I had previously applied for and transfer my app to the new project.
Do I have to re-apply for approval from twitter for the new project? Can you help me understand what to do here?
My apologies if the answer to this question was already available somewhere in the documentation or in another forum question, but I couldn’t find it anywhere.
Best,
Matt Brown

I’m not twitter so don’t take my word for it - but i would make a new App, add the new description there, assign it to the current Academic project and maybe send a note to Twitter API Policy Support | Help Center for “question not covered…” and carry on.
Generally - i wouldn’t even bother if it’s the same use case - eg: if it still somehow involves “getting tweets from politicians on twitter” it doesn’t matter how you changed your study design (at least, i wouldn’t bother changing the description). As long as it doesn’t veer into any of these: More on restricted use cases – Twitter Developers | Twitter Developer
Thanks very much Igor. This is helpful.
Unfortunately, academic research track only has one app per project. And I think the change is substantive enough that I do need to change the description. But the link for the help ticket is useful, so I will follow that process.

Hi Matt,
I don’t think you need get a new approval for changing of project. Go ahead with change of project and continue Ur task.
This is my opinion thou.
