Summary Large Image Sizes Problem

Yes we appreciate this and hear all of these comments. Please also understand that this is not the experience of the majority of Twitter users in terms of how the images are displayed. We also have an active internal discussion, driven in part by these concerns, that aims to rapidly address the questions raised.

Just to make sure you are on it, this is how I get my summary card now… One can’t trust your card preview tool.

This is a really big problem. Your card validator is showing cards correctly but every single link we share from our site has the summary large image cropped and zoomed in.

It looks like you’re saying this is an experiment: experiment has failed. Please provide us with a fix or a workaround we can implement.

The team is looking into this and this should return to the previous behaviour in the near future.

Sadly, this experiment dropped right in the middle of an Edgar-driven campaign, which rendered a lot of our artwork a mess. In addition, transparent PNG backgrounds that rendered in white before the “experiment” have rendered in black instead.

Not happy. I wish had been notified ahead of time that we were going to be guinea pigs. We might have delayed our effort until a time when we could have best showed off our artwork.

The issue is being investigated.

Note that Cards images are always rendered as JPG for performance reasons, so transparency in PNG is not supported.
