Okay, so I see that I shouldnt have both the twitter and og elements in a single meta tag. Twitter does use the fb meta tags in many cases (e.g. title, description, etc… https://dev.twitter.com/cards/getting-started)
Unfortunately, still not working though.
It does show the image in the card validator though (https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator)
I also just noticed the URL is not getting added either.
Heres updated code:
<meta property="og:type" content="article">
<meta property="article:author" content="https://www.facebook.com/pages/AutoInsuranceCentercom/124752061043562">
<meta property="og:title" content="America's Deadliest Driving Counties & States">
<meta property="og:url" content="http://www.autoinsurancecenter.com/americas-deadliest-driving-counties-and-states.htm">
<meta property="og:description" content="Which states/counties prove most dangerous for drivers? We gathered data from the NHTSA'S Fatality Analysis Reporting System">
<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary_large_image">
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@autoinsurancece">
<meta property="og:image" content="http://www.autoinsurancecenter.com/assets/images/County-Map.jpg">
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@autoinsurancece" />
