Summary card shows up but without the image and instead shows a default image. Even in the validator it shows it as valid but still shows the default image only and not the one mentioned in the meta tag

However a similar page with exact same tags on our development environment shows the image.

Your card validates fine for me using the card validator and I can see the image:

yeah its now working fine. I had changed the robots.txt on our CDN to allow twitterbot but I guess it took a few hours to clear some internal cache for twitter to actually start fetching the images.
