I currently receive a lot of spam via automated welcome msgs from people. I would love to have the ability to both see if these DM’s are bot driven, and subsequently, be able to block or classify certain ones as spam or low quality. I really like the #Goodbots initiative you all have been doing, but DM’s need to be cleaned up some as well I think.
I also bring this up because DM Chat Bots are getting pretty hard to spot and/or counter these days. Roughly a 3rd of all new welcome DM’s I get are the “Hello” type variety, where it invites you to respond. Which of course, means they are perfectly within twitter rules and regulations. But in my book, its still spam and unwanted.
Having DM Source Labels present on these Bot driven DM’s would go a LONG way to help people from falling into the trap of thinking they are responding to a real human.
