Sudden Failure on REST API by iOS SDK

#1

From 3 days ago, POST action(users/follow block/create etc) returns error(code261:Application cannot perform write actions)
It occurs suddenly and keep on until now.
We did not make any changes on our side to call API.
We call API through iOS SDK on iPhone application.

Is something of specification changed ?
Or some failure occurs on TwitterAPI?

Please someone help me…

Have you checked your app via apps.twitter.com - is there a possibility that your API key has been write-limited?

#3

Thanks for your help, Andy.
I have checked it but there is no sign like that.
But I think there is a possibility as you mentioned.
Because the app uses iOS SDK(https://dev.twitter.com/docs/ios), we didn’t register to apps.twitter.com. Would you let me know how to confirm whether our app is write-limited or not?

#4

Hello, Andy
How about my last inquiry?
Would you give me some information?

#5

Isn’t my last message posted?

Thanks for the help, Andy
I’ve checked that site but it has no problem. -apps.twitter.com.
But I think there is possibility that our app is write-limited.
App uses iOS integrated Framework. (iOS SDK) so it is not registered to -apps.twitter.com. and I cannot confirm whether write-limited.

Would you give me any way to confirm whether our app is suspended?

#6

Hello, Is there some updates?

The error is persisting for more than 6 days.
We have no way to suppress.
We don’t know how to deal with it.
Only our hope is your investigation.
Please please help…

So, somehow, your application uses Twitter APIs without even using an access token? Doubtful. Using the iOS SDK does not free you from having to register an application on Twitter.

I suspect you did not write this application, and I strongly recommend asking whoever wrote it.

#8

Hello, it is sure application uses an access token but it is hidden when it use Social.framework for iOS. We coded referring below page.
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/ios/making-api-requests-slrequest

Our app is “Follow Tool for Twitter”. If you suspect me, search and try it.
For example, blocking someone will fail.
Server returns errors which is related with write-limited.

Hello,

From the error description provided, it appears your app has been restricted from performing write actions by our automated systems. Please follow the information provided in the following help doc: https://support.twitter.com/articles/72585-how-to-appeal-application-suspension-and-other-disciplinary-actions

Thanks!

Hello, Truebe
Thanks your help but I have already follow that page and submitted information.
After that I received comments that they asked me to submit here, so I wrote here.
In addition, the problem exists as I wrote above. I cannot confirm that app is write-limited or not as we use iOS integration framework.
