Error I recieve in WHMCS System Activity log: Twitter Sign In callback failed: Failed to obtain Twitter OAuth client credentials
I am currently attempting to setup Twitter login and register with twitter for my WHMCS (Billing Platform) installation. WHMCS themselves has provided a tutorial on this here: docsDOTwhmcsDOTCOM/Configuring_Sign-In_using_Twitter
For some reason my account is not working using this tutorial and with the support of WHMCS Support. They even tried loggin in to my account and setting it up like it should be setup. It works fine with their test account but when using my dev account and application it does not work telling us that this seems to be an account issue. Anyone have any ideas here?
The website I am trying to setup twitter on: billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM
Login Page: billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM/login
Register page: billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM/registerDOTphp
Callback urls I have setup:
billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM
billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM/login
billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM/index.php/auth/provider/twitter_oauth/callback
billingDOTmiffedhostingDOTCOM/auth/provider/twitter_oauth/callback
I have tried the following:
- Create new application and project.
- Try using another account (WHMCS Test Account for twitter dev)
- regenerating api key and secret.
- add different variations of callback urls.
- change to default template and cart template for WHMCS
If anyone has any experience with something similar or any tips regarding this please do share.
The twitter dev account was also banned once due to an error with the automated system twitter has. Contacted them and the account was unbanned / unrestricted. In case this has any connections to the issue.
Thank you in advance
EDIT 09.12.2021 AT 04:55 “I would like to add that using an alternative account (My Personal one) did actually work which makes me think this has to be an account issue and not a configuration issue.” Hope this helps you if you are reading this in the future
