Streaming connection immediately closed

Hi

I recently reactivited a streaming app which worked ok afew months ago and I have updated it to the HTTPS requirements.

Now, it immediately closes the stream just afew seconds after opeining it. No error meassage but no tweets returned. I have tried popular terms like “obama” but still null returns and tried leaving it half an hour bewteen attempts.

Perhaps my account is restricted because it took several connections to get the new code working, but how can one tell if this is so?

I am using streamR with ROoauth.

Hi Neil,

Have you found a solution? I have the same issue, I get this message:
Capturing tweets…
Connection to Twitter stream was closed after 0 seconds with up to 1 tweets downloaded.

I have no issues using functions from the twitteR package.
