Streaming API: How to deal with multiple connections

Hi all,

I’m using the Streaming API to receive tweets regarding a specific keyword. Now I want to run my application multiple times, so that I will get all the tweet data regarding one keyword in a separate application instance.

Now I’m wondering what’s the best way to do that.
Can I use the same API key for all my applications? Or do I have to create an API key for each keyword?

I’m worrying that I might be banned for that, as I read the following in the documentation:

“Each account may create only one standing connection to the public endpoints, and connecting to a public stream more than once with the same account credentials will cause the oldest connection to be disconnected.”

What does account credential mean? Is that the API key? Or maybe my Twitter account?

Thanks for your help.
