@andypiper

Did you have a chance to follow up on this issue?

I am also experiencing this.

Just want to add some extra info in relation to this - with my bot’s tweets (and other bot accounts with this same issue) there’s no source label on ANY Twitter platform (web app, ios, android etc) and the source object in the tweet JSON is just '', so it doesn’t look like the app name is being registered at all.

@AugusDogus Have you tried just creating a standalone app (as opposed to an app inside a project) and seeing if the source label pops when you use that? That seemed to fix it for a few people (not for me :frowning:) but it’s probably worth a try!

I am facing the same problem even though I tried testing it through a standalone app and a project.

I’m having the same exact problem. I registered recently as a Twitter Developer and I have tried everything but I get nothing. It’s not just Tweepy but also TwitterOAuth by Abraham Williams

I have tried that “solution” as well, but it unfortunately did not work for me either.

Don’t want to let this thread die as it’s still an issue and I suspect that letting the previous thread die is why we never got a follow-up from @andypiper.

@IgorBrigadir could you touch on this at all or perhaps reach out to Andy for us? Thanks!

I just got mod power on the forums because i was here for ages, i’m not twitter :sweat_smile:

But i’ll open / unlock the thread in case it auto closes, because it’s still an issue!

I really hope someone from Twitter gets back to this because I do want to make it clear for my users that the tweet that they see that the tweet is automatically tweeted

Getting back to this: there is a potential fix for this behavior.
