I have the Consumer Keys from the developers portal, I have inserted both …

consumer API key
and secret password
still, I get this error

Andy Thank you for getting back to me and assisting mostly appreciated … Basically my skillance theme in my wordpress site requires a twitter api and secret key to allow social login from twitter visitors for easy simple access …

i completed the process in the developers portal and created the project and collected the keys then inserted it into my website theme.

I completed and inserted api keys

i logged out and tried to use the twitter to login in

and i get the attached message

Conection with twitter Failed

not sure what i may be doing wrong

Hi Andy did I miss something or make a mistake i got a msg saying my account has been put on temporary hold I only asked question… Anyways could this be the reason for the error of connection failed ?

The error message suggests that whatever Wordpress plugin you are using is hitting some other error. Have you configured a callback URL for your Twitter app? Can you check your server logs for any more detail about the error? “Connection with Twitter failed” is not something that would have come from the Twitter API.

Hi Andy, still getting error i’m gonna contact the theme support see what they say … if their are any more suggestions pls kindly

Again, I do not know anything about the plugin you are using, but I would check that you have enabled “Enable 3-legged OAuth” in the Twitter Apps dashboard, and also that you have set the correct callback URLs (on the same page). It will not work simply with the consumer API key and secret, you need to configure callback as well.

Hi Andy think were closer to a resolution… I believe I need to initiate the 3legged “OAuth” & call back url
Terms of service etc etc

Still working out what the https call back is specifically its not really clear and I’ve never heard of it b4

Looked on line and figured it might be something like below correct?

then i log out and try and log back in after all correction have been made
would like to know if my call back url looks correct

I’ve enabled … double and triple checked settings
still getting

What do the server logs say? This could be a lot of things, like an SSL connection error, a network error, time skew on the server. I really cannot help beyond those suggestions.
