@site/creator displayed at the end of our tweets eats into the 140 words. Is there a way to stop this?

Hi,

We have @site/creator being displayed eating into our 140 words.
Is there a way to stop this?

Our tweet is made up of: message + URL (<140), but then “via @raceforlife” as a suffix, which takes it over 140.
Can we hide this?
Or is there something to make it not be counted?

No, everything counts and there are no exceptions at the moment, except the special case for URLs as they are shortened with t.co.
