Sending tweets from applications

Hi, I am new to twitter development so any help would be much appreciated.

I am considering writing a windows service that gathers data from various sources and then can tweet events using a particular tweet account, thus interested parties would be able to get regular updates.

The question that I have is: As the application is an NT service I assume that (from the twitter documentation) that I would be using ‘Application Only Authentication’. Also the documentation stipulates that with this form of authentication I can send tweets.

Should I be choosing a different form of authentication? How can I achieve sending tweets from an NT service?

You’d need user authentication to send Tweets, since you can only do so if you are logged in to an account on Twitter.
