On Twitter, when we search for a hashtag, it does have an option to search related news around that HashTag.
The Docs suggest that -
Replace “https://twitter.com/search” with “https://api.twitter.com/1.1/search/tweets.json” and you will get: https://api.twitter.com/1.1/search/tweets.json?q=%40twitterapi
I am doing the same, using f=news&vertical=news parameter in the API, but I am unable to see news in the JSON response. Tested on the Twitter API Console.
Help would be appreciated.
The Search API does not offer all of the same features as the web search.
In this particular case, I think that adding “filter:news” to your search query may work, but I’m not sure about that.
Do you mean ass a query parameter like q=%23Twitter&filter=news ?
Inside the q= value, add filter:news and see how you get on.

In my tests filter:news actually seems to work pretty effectively
