Search query parameter not working as expected

I’m trying to search for tweets with the keyword twitter since 1Nov2013

But the api is returning much older results as well as some of the the more recent ones:
https://api.twitter.com/1.1/search/tweets.json?count=100&q=test%20since%3A2013-11-01

And the websearch returns more or less what I’m expecting:
https://twitter.com/search?q=test%20since%3A2013-11-01&src=typd

Am I going about this the wrong way?

By much older are you seeing tweets that occurred before November 1 with that query? When I run it, it seems to function as expected. Which field are you using to determine the creation date of the tweet?

The search on twitter.com is a little different than what’s in the API,
