Hello,

I recently applied for a twitter developer account as confirmed successful in the mail trail. The purpose of use case as explained is as a data source for my thesis project in my current MSc in Data Science program at Robert Gordon Umiversity, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.

My research topic is around social listening on US Black TV Shows and so the aim is to collect tweets for about 10 TV shows using their hashtags with tweet object information like tweet_id, tweet,favorites,follower_count and user information majorly the demographic information like age, gender, location, race etc whichever is possible as it would help me do better analytics of the tweets retrieved for my project. I intend to use the tweet content also for sentiment analysis but the demographic information that’s not available is the need for this email.

I have however, read through the terms for accessing tweets and seen that some of the information I require are categorized as “restricted information”. I know attributes like race or racial origin might be restricted but I would really appreciate if I can get it and the other demographic information mentioned for the sample tweets for the 10 TV shows to be analyzed.

My request to let you know that I’m a researcher, running my thesis project and would require demographic information (one,two or more) for the top 10 US black TV shows ranked in 2019. Basically, I would want a dataset to have this but not limited to tweetid, tweet, favorites, likes, follower_count, location, gender, age, racial origin (if public) . I also understand that only if the information is set to public that I will be able to have access to it. Not a problem. Let me have the ones that have been made public and I can work with that.

Please assist to read through all that’s I’ve said and provide me more information and I’m available to advise the hashtags of the 10 TV shows if I can get a spool of about 10k tweets for each show in 2019 using the advised tweet attributes.

I don’t think you can get any demographic data from twitter at all, also some types of demographic linking with twitter data is restricted: More on restricted use cases – Twitter Developers | Twitter Developer Platform

You can certainly get the tweets and use them for sentiment analysis though.
