Sale_amount return higher numbers than expected (Twitter ads UI)

#1

Hi,

I am trying to get the conversions on all platforms for an account

Request:
url : https://ads-api.twitter.com/3/stats/jobs/accounts/accountID
entity_ids : 20 lineItem ids
entity : LINE_ITEM
placement : ALL_ON_TWITTER
metric_groups : BILLING,ENGAGEMENT,MEDIA,VIDEO,WEB_CONVERSION,MOBILE_CONVERSION
segmentation_type: PLATFORMS
with_deleted : true
granularity : DAY
start_time : 2018-06-15 (with “yyyy-MM-dd’T’HH:mm:ss’Z’” pattern)
end_time: 2018-06-15 (with “yyyy-MM-dd’T’HH:mm:ss’Z’” pattern)

url : https://ads-api.twitter.com/3/stats/jobs/accounts/accountID
entity_ids : 20 lineItem ids
entity : LINE_ITEM
placement : PUBLISHER_NETWORK
metric_groups : BILLING,ENGAGEMENT,MEDIA,VIDEO,WEB_CONVERSION,MOBILE_CONVERSION
segmentation_type: PLATFORMS
with_deleted : true
granularity : DAY
start_time : 2018-06-15 (with “yyyy-MM-dd’T’HH:mm:ss’Z’” pattern)
end_time: 2018-06-15 (with “yyyy-MM-dd’T’HH:mm:ss’Z’” pattern)

I am getting HIGH numbers in sale_amount with overall around 18 billions when it should be around 6K.

Is there something I should send along the parameters or I should divide the numbers? How to overcome such problem?

Thanks in advance,
Sultan

Could you please provide the response you’re seeing?

This is likely due to two factors:

  1. You’re only requesting data for a single placement, not both.
  2. You’re seeing the values in micros and not dividing by 1,000,000.

Hi @juanshishido,

Thanks for the fast reply and sorry for the late response.

This is part of the response related to the issue:
{“post_view”:[3.0,4.0,2.0,2.0,0.0,0.0,0.0],“sale_amount”:[1.149E7,7680000.0,2990000.0,2390000.0,0.0,0.0,0.0],“sale_amount_view”:[1.149E7,7680000.0,2990000.0,2390000.0,0.0,0.0,0.0],“order_quantity”:[3000000.0,3000000.0,1000000.0,1000000.0,0.0,0.0,0.0],“order_quantity_view”:[3000000.0,3000000.0,1000000.0,1000000.0,0.0,0.0,0.0]}

It seems more likely that values are in micros, right?

Thanks in advance

Could you please provide the actual request you made? Remember not to obfuscate the IDs as this’ll be needed on our end. See our Guidelines for Reporting Issues.

  • For each request we send only the line items for the campaigns that available in the same time period of the request.

  • As for the account and line items IDs I can send them to you in private, cause these are info for a customer not my own. contact me at sultan.othman@datorama.com

@SultanHishUtman: We’re not able to look into this without the IDs. It is safe to share account and line item IDs.

Hi @juanshishido,

Do you have any updates for me?

#13

@SultanHishUtman: Please isolate this to a specific entity ID for a specific 7-day period. We want to try to remove any superfluous information. In addition, please show us what you’re seeing through the API (you’ve already done this to some degree) and provide what values you expect to see (along with a screenshot from ads.twitter.com).
