Retweet Count In Streaming API

#1

I am fetching tweets using streaming API by providing box coordinates for different countries. But I am getting Retweet Count as zero for a retweet and Is_Retweeted as false. Can you please explain why it is so?

Hi Arshad Hussain.,

According to twitter documentation.,Is_Retweeted it self tells., that particular tweet is retweeted one or not. If, it is false, its created by you(not created by retweet action), it is true means that particular tweet retweeted by you.

Thank for the info. I am aware of it. However, in my case the retweet itself is showing retweet count as zero and is retweeted as false. And this happens in Streaming API not the REST API.

once check the from profile…

#5

What do you mean by “from Profile”?

#6

My another question (It should have been the first) is: Do we get retweets when we are fecthing tweets through Streaming API using location(Bounding Boxes) parameters.

Here.,

This is retweeted by me.—

we can identify the changes
If retweeted true. They have section called “retweeted_status”(having creater of this tweet)
otherwise no retweeted_status

I know that already. I am aware of the basics. I don’t suppose you have worked on Twitter Streams.

#9

Can anyone please clarify, if we get retweets when we are fecthing tweets through Streaming API using location(Bounding Boxes) parameters.

#10

Retweets don’t have geolocation information associated with them – the original tweet might, but the act of retweeting does not and so should not surface using the location parameter.

Thanks Mr. Taylor. This is what I was looking for.
