Retweet API "sharing is not permissible for this status"

I am trying to retweet a tweet via the API. However I get the “sharing is not permissible for this status” response. I can retweet it using the standard Twitter web interface. I have read, write, and DM access. I don’t know what else to check. Thanks.

Sorry, I was trying to retweet my own tweets. It works fine when you retweet other tweets.
