Since twitter doesnāt provide fetching .mp4 files API anymore (unless Iām wrong), Iām finding it hard to be able to implement a feature in a browser extension (https://github.com/sindresorhus/refined-twitter/issues/34) which would allow a user download a twitter video. Since video comes in MPEG - Transform streams, I canāt help but try to go down this path ā
Somehow listen to the incoming .ts files without playing the video -> mux them and make an MP4 format data and somehow download that data.
Iām wary of putting my time down this path, as much fun and learning oriented it sounds, because I stumbled on a tool by simple google search (https://twdown.net/), which is able to get the .mp4 path of the videos, which makes it very easy to download them. I do not know how they might be doing that.
I could use some direction. Iām not a full time software developer / computer programmer. But Iāve really grown interest in things.
