I am in the process of developing a site that uses the Twitter Search API as a crucial component. The site formats a tweet including the current URL in order to keep track of support for a given page. When I was doing testing with localhost links I was able to successfully track each tweet as it happened (delayed by around 20s). Later on when I put my site up on the web and tried to track that URL, my search came up with zero results (even after several hours). One important difference between these cases is twitter’s simplifying my new URL with t.co. I read that the search api should still function with t.co links, however there is still some problem with my URL tracking even though it worked with a localhost link (which twitter did not use t.co on).
Any information would be greatly appreciated since tweet tracking is a crucial component of my site.
