Receive historical analytics data from twitter

Hey,

i hope that I am in the correct category, as this is the first time I am trying to use the twitter API.

I just have a simple question. Is it possible to have a textbox on my website, where I can enter a hashtag and then hit the submit button and then it shows me how many times the hashtag already has been used?

All of this should be on my own website, however I need to collect the historical data from twitter.

You can use the public search API to search an incomplete index of Tweets that covers the past 7 days, and calculate the answer.

For a full historical archive, Historical PowerTrack and Full Archive Search are two paid products from Twitter’s Gnip business that would enable you to calculate the number of times a hashtag has been used.
