Query string parameter in URL causing Twitter Cards to not render in Tweets

We have a customer where we have posted and rendered article links to Twitter as Twitter Cards without any issue.

The issue seemingly started at random with this tweet: https://twitter.com/ZDNet/status/1510274642593918984

We have successfully reproduced the issue and determined the root cause is due to the inclusion of the ftag parameter in the article url: Chinese hackers Deep Panda return with Log4Shell exploits, new Fire Chili rootkit | ZDNet?ftag=COS-05-10aaa0g

• In our testing, regardless of the value, having an ftag param causes posts to not render as Twitter Cards in Tweets.

Is this a known bug and/or does someone have insight into this issue?
