Pulling in domain.com through streaming API

Question:

When searching for, say, CNN.com natively on Twitter, you get results of all URLs shared from CNN.com, even if the URL is shortened through a 3rd party service such as bit.ly.

However, in my streaming API application, I’m only getting tweets that contain exactly “CNN.com”.

Any ideas? Is this not supported in streaming API?

Tracking tweets around a domain name isn’t possible with the Streaming API today; unfortunately, you would need to name each distinct possible URL as a keyword in order to track – obviously not scalable for large sites.
