Premium search query capacity

Hi,

I’ve been using Premium Sandbox for a short while, and given that it has limited query length, I was only able to search for tweets either based on ‘place_country’ OR time range (fromDate, toDate). Using both in the search query did not return the right results. I assume it must be exceeding the query length for Sandbox. (I could jointly use ‘place_country’ and ‘lang’ though, but not time range.)

Now, if I upgrade to Premium, will I be able to do search using ‘place_country’, ‘lang’, and time range (fromDate, toDate), all at once? Or, would these three criteria still exceed the premium’s allowed query length?

I just want to make sure that one can combine both search query with time range, using a premium access.

Anyone who might want to share his/her experience with the premium API search? You don’t really know how much long of a query would 1024 characters (as stated in the documentation for premium api) really support.

Hi @joyacabolitae - using OR’d time-based parameters within the query language isn’t available. The time parameters are defined outside of the query and don’t add to the query length.

In general, the query you’re searching with is applied to a specific timeframe (as parameters of the API call, not part of the query itself).

For example:
Rule with length of 29 characters: dogs place_country:US lang:en
fromDate: 20180505000
toDate: 20180510000

Thank you! But in sandbox, using the time range with the query doesn’t seem to be working. I can get the proper results when I use place_country with lang (without any time range). But when I add fromDate - toDate, the results do NOT get filtered per place_country and lang. Would this work if I upgrade to Premium?
