Policy for sharing research data

We’re researching tweets collected through the Twitter API and our latest publication will most likely be published at PLoS ONE. PLoS ONE have recently changed their data policy and they require that data used in articles published by them should be open. This however, is a bit contradictory to at least how I interpret Twitter’s terms for the data.

So my question is exactly what data from Twitter can be publish openly along our research article? Any specific restriction with that?

Any help on this point would be highly appreciated.

Hi @kholmber, If you provide downloadable datasets of Twitter Content or an API that returns Twitter Content, you may only return IDs (including tweet IDs and user IDs). https://dev.twitter.com/terms/api-terms
