I’m trying to develop an app that relies on accurate location identification of tweets. Understanding that privacy is important to users, I don’t want or need to identify exact locations where a tweet originated, but I do need to make sure that the areas I’m querying don’t overlap and that the location specified in the query is the true location of the tweet. Not sure how to achieve this short of the following changes to the API: 1) bring back place creation. 2) use IP addresses as the method of geolocation when using the geocode parameter in a query, but strip that data from the output,
I welcome your comments and suggestions.
