We are using the Periscope API to create broadcasts for our clients. I noticed that the API stopped working last night. Is it now officially deprecated?

Migration of the Periscope API to the Twitter API was announced for 2021, but I can’t find any endpoints or details about this.

Who to contact for this? Thanks in advance for your help

Yes, the Periscope Producer API was officially shutdown this weekend. We have been emailing the addresses on file with information about migration over the past few months but it is possible that our information was outdated. I’ll check with our team and get back to you asap. What company / application is this for? You may also want to check your spam folder in case messages went there.

Thanks for your prompt reply, Andy!

The company is RadioPush. Applied for access back in June 2017 (via John B).

hi @andypiper, is there any process to apply for twitter live api without previously having access to periscope? it is for a new streaming app.
thank you!

I’m not aware of any way to do this right now - the small number of existing partners were provided access to the replacement API for continuity, but there was no wider rollout. I can certainly ask about this but I do not have an ETA for this to change.

Thank you for the update!
I would appreciate if you can ask though. We have customers who are asking us for twitter integration all the time. Thank you.

At the moment there is no way to apply for access.

Hello, how do I request this?
help, thanks

As mentioned above, the replacement endpoints were only made available to existing Periscope partners. There is no immediate plan to open up access more broadly, and there is no way to apply for access.

If this situation changes, you might expect to hear an announcement via these forums in the Announcements category, or via @TwitterDev on Twitter.

You can see other ways to keep up with API news on our Stay Informed page.

I’m going to close out this thread as there’s no additional information that we can share at this time.
