Sometime in January an odd bug was reported to us. When running through our system, during authentication to Twitter, some requests were throwing “Connection Reset”. No error response from Twitter.
We traced this down to size. We often have very large URLs to return to. But we found that it depends on the browser as well. Eventually we found that anything sent over 1500 bytes was causing packet fragmentation (as is should) and thus the connection reset.
Does Twitter only allow one packet? IE if the request comes across in more than one packet is it ignored? I would assume this is due to security? Or is this a bug?
