Hi team + fellow devs, hope everyone is having a great weekend!
There has been an odd issue affecting Twitter for about 6 months, and although this isn’t directly linked to the API was wondering if any developers had found any good work arounds?
The issue is twitter will display totally different data depending on the users IP location. See below two screenshots taken 30 seconds apart.
- Uses a los angeles IP
- Uses a london IP
Depending where I visit Twitter from this users profile shows totally different data.
Example 1 the user has 19.4K who he follows
Example 2 it shows 385,600 he follows
I can understand a mild difference as people perform actions, and the servers sync across the world, but this is very wild. The same issue is shown via the API data calls. It shows one thing in one country and something different in the next.
If this issue isn’t known please pass it to the correct dept for me, and I will be happy to post some postman screenshots of the API inconsistencies as well if you need them.
All the best !
