Number of tweets seems to change

HI

I am rather new to twitter and I want to display the latest 3 of my posts on my site, which I want to be able to style. I came across a blog that talked about using this code:

I find that sometimes I get only 2 tweets - this happens if I press the “Retweet” button or do a retweet byt typing RT at the start - but this might all be coincidence

Have I gone up the wrong tree using this code? Is there a better way? Or is this method ok?

I found it quite hard to find the right info on the twitter site?
