Nothing responding

When Twitter on my laptop opens, the whole newsfeed and my followers and following list is moved down. Anything I click on does not respond unless I right click it and choose to open it in another tab. Only one page of tweets will load. I can tweet from the computer but everything else I click is unresponsive.

Now that I’ve turned off AdBlock on my twitter page, I see that there are huge pop up ads telling me that I’ve won things and to update my media player. Why is this?
