This worked . Thx

Hey, this worked for me:

  1. You have to get all the domains thing correctly (try with www, or without it… until it works)
  2. In the resulting code, look for //platform.twitter.com/widgets, and add a http:
    so it looks like:
    http://platform.twitter.com/widgets

Let me guys know if that works for you! It deffo worked for me
I really hope this helps, good luck everyone

My issue was resolved by using the asterisk with each domain, typed in lower-case, and with each domain on a separate line with no character separators (like commas or semicolons). (i.e.:

*.blogspot.com
*.google.com
*.blogger.com

Just to let you know, if you can’t get this working you are not the only one. I know that this widget has worked for me in the past, but it does not work for me now. I have just spent the past two hours reading, tweaking, changing domains, trying different settings and following all of the instructions on the twitter documentation, this forum, several other websites and have had no luck. I have checked, rechecked, and edited my domains multiple times. It does not work for me. At this point I am done with the twitter widget. Going to find an external option that actually works. If I find something useful I will post it here.

I was able to get this one to work: http://twitterwidget.net. Not quite as slick looking, but it works if you want to use a rss feed of a list/phrase or search term. Hope that helps anyone who is stuck.

It worked on bandzoogle trial account. Then I switched it over to my domain and now it won’t work. I’m not sure what happened because I changed the URL correctly within Twitter widgets. But on Twitter, the widget won’t even preview what’s supposed to be there. I deleted and created new widget, same problem, was it just the timing? It has nothing to do with the url postings because there’s no preview picture and I get that configuration error message as soon as I click to make a new widget…
Admins paying attention a little on this, thought I’d see if I can get my question heard.

Great! I try and now work.

Thanks a lot, by specifying all the combinations of domain name it worked!

This isn’t working for me. I thought maybe cos my tumblr account was re-directing to another domain that might be the problem so put the original tumblr domain (with and without www.) as well as the actual domain (with and without www.) and this is still not working. Help?

Figured out my problem after realising it worked on my homepage of tumblr but not sub-pages. I just needed to change that page from “standard layout” to “custom layout” and input the html. This means the whole page now has the stream and nothing else, but I can work round that.

This information worked great. Thanks for providing the tips @Urban SkateLinks.com

…doesn’t work in any case

Twitter widget - ‘Create New’ - ‘Something is technically wrong’

Thank you so much. This worked for me. I had www.domainname.co.za directing to domainname.co.za, removing the www from the twitter widget url box fixed my problem.
It is in my opinion just a subdomain issue:

im using firefox and i see your widget

This worked for me. Cheers!

The issue for me was the DoNotTrackMe extension.

In Chrome if I disable the Extension DoNotTrackMe it works. And that makes sense, mostly. But to stay on point, I’d like to configure that Extension with exceptional domains for DoNotTrackMe but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that in Chrome…when the Extension is disabled.

So, to fix it:

  • re-enable DoNotTrackMe
  • reload the page with the timeline
  • click on the little DoNotTrackMe icon near the URL box at the top left of Chrome
  • you will see where you can allow the site, Twitter in this case, to be ignored by DoNotTrackMe
  • reload your page with the timeline and it will appear

Good Luck!
Jeff

Got it WORKING.

I’d like to echo @jury_music’s comments
1/ I added an ‘http:’ in front of '//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js’
2/ ensure that the domain is the final one that the page containing the widget resides within

Time for twitter development to update their code base to prevent this mass frustration I think…
Richard

Thank you Jeff for posting this! I was almost bald pulling my hair out on this one! I just loaded an extension (Disconnect) a few days ago and it’s the reason I couldn’t see the tweets.

Glad it helped Lisa! Have a great day.

Hi! I guess I’m a bit late for the discussion, but I hope you guys could help me out. I use blogger, so all variations should be: www,blogger.com, www.barteag.blogspot.com, www.blogspot.com?? Should they be separated by a comma and a space?? Anything else?? It isn’t working yet, what others should I try?
