Mopub ads don't show for KitKat

Test ads are working on a device running Lollipop (5.1), but don’t show on my KitKat (4.4) device.

Any reason why Mopub wouldn’t be working on older versions of Android?

Note: I had to add the following to my build.grade for Mopub SDK to build as a release APK:

useLibrary ‘org.apache.http.legacy’
