Mentions without Retweets

I was advised that I could no longer retrieve mentions timeline for an account due to the very large number of tweets being returned. Instead, I was told to use the Premium Search API. I’m now having trouble pulling the mentions I want because the @ operator also returns retweets. Because of this and because the account in question has many more retweets than mentions, I have now utilized all of my API access and I still do not know how to retrieve mentions while excluding retweets.

Here is what I need: Help constructing a query that returns mentions but not retweets
Here is what I would like: Enough full history quota to pull mentions (but not retweets) for @NBA from June 24th through the last day I can’t get these mentions from the 30-day endpoint as of the date of submission of the response to this request.

Another member of my team suggested adding “-RT” to the query and this appears to be returning the correct results. I want to confirm our query “@NBA -RT” is the most effective way to ensure we receive ALL mentions and NO retweets.

Hi Mike,

I can confirm that you can negate the is:retweet operator to exclude retweets.

So, for example, your query will look something like this:

In order to access Tweets from 24th June you will have to use the full archive endpoint, as the 30-day endpoint only supports the last 30 days of history.
