Can someone please confirm that via the REST API that the largest image size that can be uploaded to a users Twitter status/feed is still 3.145728 MB as noted in the https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/help/configuration? The reason I ask this is because I see conflicting notes in the Twitter “written” documentation. That documentation notes 5Mb here https://dev.twitter.com/rest/public/uploading-media. The behavior I see through the API is the 3.1Mb is the largest.
To add to a little bit of the confusion is that Twitter natively, when posting on twitter.com, allows images larger than 3.1Mb. One would assume that the REST API would work like the Twitter.com platform. Wishful thinking? Is Twitter.com doing some image compression “behind the scenes”?
Thanks in advance.
