I’d like to be able to upload a gif to the REST API without jumping through hoops to get it under 3 megabytes. Since it’s going to get converted to a (much smaller) mp4 anyway, it seems like it’d be better for everyone if I could perform that conversion on my end: you receive a much smaller file, you don’t have to do any gif->mp4 conversion, and I don’t have to compromise so much on resolution, colour palette etc.
Of course, I could just upload the mp4 as a video, but then it won’t loop when displayed in the app / on the website. So from another angle, what I’m asking for is the ability to upload a video and specify that it should loop, exactly as a gif does.
Does this sound reasonable, and are there any related plans?
