Large Photo Cards are Cropping

Issue: Cards are cropping

To replicate: hover over one of the cards and share it via the twitter icon.

I’ve used the dev-card validator and it shows all the images as cropped. But if I look at the source code of the site, the images are being served at full size.

The full-size images exceed the size that can be displayed in the Cards, so the display is cropped.

What are the max sizes? The documentation only shows minimum sizes:

A URL to a unique image representing the content of the page. You should not use a generic image such as your website logo, author photo, or other image that spans multiple pages. Images for this Card should be at least 280px in width, and at least 150px in height. Image must be less than 1MB in size.

We experiment with Card layouts and display, so it can vary. I’m seeing 500px as the current height of an image displayed in a card in my browser, I’m not certain whether that is identical on mobile though.
