Hello Everyone,
I’m not sure if this is the right place to discuss this but I will post it with the hope of getting response and guide on the appropriate thing to do.
I have been using twitter for some time now to look for internships and this is what I learnt:

  • Tons of tweets on internships are posted daily
  • Tons of people are looking for this internships.
A typical scenario is a tweets that says “any data science internship available” from the job seeker and somewhere else, there is a tweet talking about “data science internship for fall 2022”. The job seeker might not get a notification for that.
I was thinking that a bot that is built on top of twitter that allows users to indicate job interest, timing, location etc., then use the data to match new tweets the user will be glad to come across through AI analysis of the tweet content will be great and notify the tons of job seekers with the opportunities they are seeking even while they sleep.
I think twitter give some level of access to tweets through there API but I’m not aware a bot that serves the above functionality. So, my questions/concerns are:
  • is there something similar that has been built which i’m not aware of?
  • Does twitter welcome things like this (cos they can develop it if they wish)?
  • will they allow something like this on their platform?

As much as I don’t expect any twitter executive or developer to be here answer my question like its their job to reply me. I will appreciate any tiny response that can help me abandon this idea or forge it forward.

Thank you for your time!

Thanks!

Not that i know of.

I’m not twitter, but what you describe doesn’t sound problematic at all.

No way to tell if they will allow it - it depends on how you execute this - one thing to watch is any rules on automation Twitter's automation development rules | Twitter Help

I would build the part that searches for these tweets and collects results first, and manually tweet out stuff to begin, and avoid mentioning random people. Implement notifications separately, on your own side - nothing on twitter is a good use case for mass notifications to people, mass Retweets, DMs, all run risk of being seen as spam.
