Issue in pulling DMA level data from Twitter API

Hi,

We are trying to pull DMA level data of Uber ads from twitter i.e clicks, impressions, spend and other information for each ad or campaign. There is an issue in getting data at this level. Help us in pulling out DMA level data. Is there any other end point that gives us DMA level data? We found that there is no data retrieved from 2nd end point, could you please confirm the status and data availability?

Here is our observation:-

We have merged 3 end points to accomplish this.

Endpoint 1: To fetch postal codes.

Location api : twurl -H ads-api.twitter.com "/3/targeting_criteria/locations?location_type=POSTAL_CODES"

Inference: POSTAL CODES response

Endpoint 2: To fetch the target value field

(Will be mapped with postalcode response)

Targetvalue api : twurl -H ads-api.twitter.com "/3/accounts/18ce54li14q/targeting_criteria?line_item_id=9wrsh"

Inference: Response data NULL

The endpoint gives responses with empty values for all the api calls made for the testing. There is no error messages received during the api call.

If you want to map postal codes to DMAs, you can simply use segmentation type = POSTAL_CODE as from https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/ads/analytics/overview/metrics-and-segmentation.html and when calling async job with our analytics pipeline ask to be given data broken down by POSTAL_CODE, you should also check REGIONS to see if that covers your scenario in a closer way. Thank you for the response. I went through the document and tried with

segmentation_type = POSTAL_CODES. But I am not receiving DMA level data. This is the endpoint used

https://ads-api.twitter.com/4/stats/jobs/accounts/:account_id.

Could you please help me more in understanding which endpoint gives DMA level data for a campaign?

Have you tried using the segmentation_type of REGIONS as well? Let us know if that provides the data you’re looking for.

I tried with the segmentation_type of REGIONS as well, but corresponding data is not provided. Could you please help us in understanding which endpoint to use and how to get DMA/State/City/Postal code level data for a campaign? Just a structure example what is expected from an endpoint : Campaign id, Campaign name, geo-related fields, clicks, impressions etc.

@ShireenMettupalli and @Samiul: It looks like there is some confusion here. In the original post and in the topic title, DMAs are mentioned. However, in the example, postal codes are shown. I will assume you are interested in the former.

DMAs are designated market areas. In most places in the Ads API we refer to this as “metros.” See GET targeting_criteria/locations.

It sounds like you’re interested in understanding which metros your campaigns reached. In our asynchronous analytics endpoint, as has been mentioned already, you would use the segmentation_type parameter. However, the value you would use is CITIES. In this context, it refers to designated market areas. This is because we did not update the enum value with v2 when we updated the location_type enums.
