Is there premium or enterprise plan for Direct Message APIs?

Hello there.

I am planning to create a chat-bot for user support by answering predictable questions.

The twitter account we are going to use has about 30k followers

but Direct Message API limit seems quite not enough to handle the followers’ dms.

I already had contacted to local Twitter Support(not in America) and been introduced to this forum.

Also I tried to search Twitter API documents but couldn’t find any.

I apologize that I’m not sure if it’s ok to write this subject in this forum.

Premium and enterprise API access does not change account posting limits in any way.

Adaptive Direct Message rate limits may assist with your use case, but you’ve not exactly described the limitations you are concerned about.

It says Resource is limited 1000 requests per user.

Is this relevant to Adaptive Direct Message rate limits?

I mean…

• Can I still send a DMs as long as I receive messages even if I already made 1000 requests to create DM in a day?

That’s the account limit for a user, yes. A user account can only send up to 1000 Direct Messages per day. However, the adaptive limit enables this to be more flexible to account for recipients not responding immediately.

You mention a very large number of followers. The Direct Message API is not intended or designed as a broadcast mechanism, so you should not expect (for example) to be able to send 30k Direct Messages (one to every follower) on a daily basis - that’s just not an appropriate way to think about the API or the messaging mechanism, it does not work like that. If that is your concern, you should consider alternative solutions.

As I mentioned before, I am planning to build chat-bot which answers a predetermined answer on a request of predetermined questions. Not just broadcasting to all followers.

I think the example you showed(Microsoft Zochat) is similar to what I want.

And the article says It handles “tens of thousands of conversations”.

I assuem that with Adpative DM API allows it to send more than a thousand of DM. Is it correct?

I don’t know which part of my mention implied ‘broadcasting’. What I want is chat-bot which send a DM as a response of followers’ DM to me (like ZoChat)

I really concern about twitter’s rule and want to follow the way how it is supposed to be used.

When a message is received from a user you may send up to 5 messages in response within a 24 hour window.
Each message received resets the 24 hour window and the 5 allotted messages. Sending a 6th message within
a 24 hour window or sending a message outside of a 24 hour window will count towards rate-limiting. This
behavior only applies when using the POST direct_messages/events/new endpoint.

• Request limit does not count about a DM I sent if I received a message from a user.
