Is there a way to find a user_id from a Status ID when the status is protected?

I have some old screen_names and status_ids and I’d like to look up the user’s current screen name. Since screen names can change over time, and I want to make sure I find the right person, I am looking for of identifying the user account that owns a given status.

using statuses/show works well for many tweets, but there are scenarios when I am told I am not authorized.

For example, this user tweeted out a tweet with ID: 209618781494972417, but I cannot verify this. I don’t need to see the tweet, just confirm the user_id for tweet with ID: 209618781494972417

I am not absolutely sure about this, but I don’t think what you need is possible, sorry. You can’t get any details about protected statuses as far as I know.
