I like many are coming a crop of the old API being dropped and many of the sites I manage with “latest tweets” content stopping working. Looking at the options, it seems twitter would like people to use the Embedded Timelines feature, however I find this VERY restrictive and on many of the sites I manage, out of character.
My question then is, is it ok to create a custom embedded timeline using the API? Or is Embedded Timelines the only allowed way to embed tweets on ones website? If it is ok to create a custom one, would I also be bound by twitters display requirements?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
